Hello I'm Melissa, the owner and Lead Designer of Le Bloomerie. I began my career in floral design early, by helping make boutonnières and flower arrangements for my mother, who designed and executed weddings herself.

I studied art & art history in college. I love creating art and can remember fondly going back to the classroom to work on my ceramic neoclassical statue until two am in college.

Like most creatives, I was told and believed that I could not make a "real living" off of art, and began a career in engineering, then nursing.

After going through a really tough time, I decided to pursue things that brought me true joy and fulfillment. For me that was art and flowers. I believe that with flowers, one can paint a story of love, happiness, mourning, there really is no limit.

My love for art was rekindled with visits to the Louvre, Musee d'Orsay and Rodin museum in Paris. It kept growing with the visit to the Kunsthistorisches museum in Vienna, where a new appreciation for Klimt grew. I spent time dreaming at the Van Gogh Museum in Germany, Picasso Museum in Barcelona, and the Museo Nacional del Prado in Madrid. 

I try to mix my love Van Gogh, Klimt, Monet, and other artists, and their approach and techniques into my floral creations. 

My love for fine art and for florals were intertwined and thus, Le Bloomerie, a fine art floral design company, was borne. Every day I study art to gain inspiration for color theory and technique, and, I incorporate this into my floral art.
